Because of the heat used to remove the back, in addition to serious damage to the sides in shipping, the only way to match the sides with the back perfectly, was to re-laminate. I had no choice.
This is the new walnut laminate.

Notice how narrow the side is. I had to trim off the splintered areas in order to have a clean edge to glue the top to.
To make a flawless looking laminate, I use my homemade side bender machine. I can glue to the many curves of the side with equal pressure. Because the glue is already setting up, I turn on the heat and spray with a little water. I'm cooking now!
